Varsity Baseball Stuns Sharks

Varsity baseball traveled to Sebastian to take on Sebastian River High School on 3/3/20. The Pirates rallied past the Sharks, winning 10-6. This most recent victory marks a five-game winning streak for the Pirates.

The Pirates struck first against the Sebastian Sharks, scoring three runs in the first inning and four runs in the second inning.  The team accumulated ten runs after putting up ten hits and added reaching base five additional times on errors. Nikita Gilmore, Aidan Heaney and Aidan Burdick all managed multiple hits for the Pirates. The Pirates ran freely on the base paths, stealing nine bags and advanced six other times on passed balls. Burdick led the Pirates with five stolen bases.  

Pitcher Travis Camp, who lasted four and one-third innings, helped secure the victory for the Pirates, allowing only four hits and four runs but also striking out three. Relief pitcher Casey Richey threw two and two-thirds innings to complete the save.


Next game is at home on 3/16/20 versus Marathon High School, starting at 6:00 PM.
