Varsity Swimming Shows Tenacity at Heartland Invitational
On 10/17/20, the varsity swimming team traveled to Lake Placid for the Heartland Invitational. Both the girls and the boys teams placed 6th overall.
Highlights for the varsity girls team: Alexandra Stern won both the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. In the 50 freestyle, Faith Mead received 5th place, with Samantha Decker placing 15th and Caitlin Roberts placing 19th. Decker also placed 18th in the 100 freestyle, and Roberts placed 13th in the 100 breaststroke. The girls team placed 5th in both the medley relay and in the 200 freestyle relay.
Highlights for the varsity boys team: Alex Roberts captured 4th place in the 500 freestyle and 5th place in the 200 individual medley. Jozef Wolek came in 10th in the 500 freestyle and 12th in the 200 individual medley, and Eric Faro placed 12th in the 100 freestyle and 15th in the 50 freestyle.
