Varsity Football Downs Ducks
The varsity football team hosted Cornerstone Charter Academy on 10/23/20, on the Michael J. Mersky Field. The Pirates shut down the Ducks, defeating them 56-0 and improving their record to 3-0 for the season.
For the Pirate offense, both Drew Sternberg and Reed Sternberg each scored 2 touchdowns. D. Sternberg went 8 for 8 on extra points and collected both a fumble recovery and an interception. Also adding a touchdown apiece for the team were Ian Horvit, Colin Krieger, Brennan Wolfe and Connor Wolfe. Major Croom and C. Wolfe each tallied an interception during the game. The offensive line consisting of Callahan Corrie, Jorge Fernandez, Grant Domenech, Eli Cleveland and Grayson Falk contributed greatly to the Pirate victory, rushing 289 and accumulating over 300 yards of offense for the first time this season.
The Pirate defense was on point as well, allowing no points to be obtained by their opponents. Krieger led the defensive line as he, Leonardo Wang and Falk each recorded a quarterback sack.
