Varsity Swimming Dominates at Districts

The varsity swimming team traveled to Lake Placid High School on 10/30/20 for the District Tournament meet. Both of the Pirate teams had a great showing in the competition.

For the Lady Pirates, Faith Mead moves on to Regionals in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Freshman Alexandra Stern won both the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, setting her personal best times. Her 200 freestyle time of 1:55.68 breaks the 25-year-old Saint Edward's School record (1:57.70) previously held by Susan Cooke '99. Additionally, Stern's 500 Freestyle time of 5:03.74 breaks the 24-year-old record of 5:05.10, also previously set by Cooke.

In the team events, Mead, Stern, Samantha Decker and Caitlin Roberts qualified for Regionals for the Girls 200 Medley. For the Girls 200 Freestyle Relay, the team of Stern, Mead, Decker and Roberts also advanced to Regionals. 

For the Pirates, Alex Roberts finished in 2nd place in the 500 Freestyle, automatically advancing to Regionals. He also qualified for the 200 Freestyle. Jozef Wolek finished his excellent season by placing 7th in the 100 Breaststroke and 10th in the 200 Individual Medley.
 
 
Next meet is the Regional Tournament at Lake Highland Prep on 11/7/20, starting at 9:00 AM.
