Sixth Grade Blindness Experience

(lk)
To build empathy for the plight of the teenage protagonist of The Cay who goes blind and becomes dependent on his castaway companion, sixth-grade students carried out a number of activities blindfolded. Students collaborated as blind Phillip and his kind companion, Timothy did in the novel. Finally, students processed this blindness experience through writing a poem or journaling. Check out these photos of students collaborating . *Please click on the headline for more photos.
