MS Tennis Competes in End of Season Tournament
The middle school tennis teams had a strong showing on 5/15/21 at the End of Season Middle School Tennis Tournament at Riverside Park Tennis Courts. Also competing against the Pirate teams in the match-ups were Master's Academy, Oslo Middle School, Sebastian River Middle School and Storm Grove Middle School.
The first portion of the competition was the singles contest, which had 19 entries total from all of the collective participating schools. For the singles competition, Nicky Colontrelle on the Silver Team for the Pirates played against teammate Rushil Sura in the final round. Colontrelle was crowned the singles champion, having won all 3 of his matches.
Representing the Blue Team in the singles competition were Augie Barreirinhas, Sebby Hall, Nicholas Weise and Addison Logemann. Representing the Silver Team in the singles competition were Bruno Barreirinhas, Ethan Ball, Colontrelle and Sura.
The second half of the tournament saw 28 doubles teams competing for the victory. For the Silver Team, Jason Britton and Zachary Gillis advanced to the finals before being defeated by a Sebastian River Middle School team. Britton and Gillis were awarded runner-up medals.
Competing in the doubles tournament for Pirates were Britton, Gillis, Piper McCollom, Halle Grella, Theodore Reicher, Isabella Peter, Rosalie Miller, Mia Maldonado, Khlieo Perez, Jimmy Collins, Ellie Simpson, Lilli Hagemeier and Valentina Henriquez.
