Mathletes Shine in Competition

CM (lk)
Last weekend, five of Saint Edward's finest math students, Tyler Donnellan, Oscar Lindenthal, Ellie MacMullan, Alexa Soderman and Rosy Yang, traveled with math coach Chad Miller to IRSC in Fort Pierce to compete in the 2022 High School Math Olympics. To start the competition, each member completed a 40-question, 1.5-hour individual test covering geometry, algebra 2, precalculus, and statistics. After listening to a moving message from IRSC President Dr. Timothy Moore, the team worked together to solve challenging problems, with points awarded based on correctness and speed. At the end of the contest, the team finished 2nd place in each of the individual and group portions. This is the best finish for an SES team in recent history. Go Pirates!
