FCIS Accreditation

I am currently sitting at a Hampton Inn in Naples, FL, writing my Hirstein HEADlines for this week. I am chairing an accreditation compliance visit for the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) at Royal Palm Academy. The compliance visit is a one-day visit which will be followed up by a full, three-day visit in April with my team of six other educators from around Florida.

FCIS relies on educators within our association to volunteer for accreditation teams. I view it as my way to “give back” to FCIS. Saint Edward’s will go through the same process in 2024, and we will have volunteers from other independent schools around the state who will do the same thing for Saint Edward’s.

In addition to giving back to an organization that provides accreditation for Saint Edward’s, it allows me the opportunity to meet independent school professionals from around Florida while visiting and studying other like-minded schools. I always walk away from this exercise with new ideas, new friends and an appreciation for our work.

I will be back on campus on Monday and look forward to a busy week ahead. Don’t forget, we have the performance “Our Town” this weekend and the Trunk Show next weekend! It is active on the Pirate Ship. Just how we like it!

I look forward to seeing you on campus!

Best,

Stuart
