Varsity Volleyball Falls to Brevard HEAT
On 8/28/23, the varsity volleyball team hosted the Brevard HEAT in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center. Despite their best efforts on the court, the Pirates fell to the HEAT in 4 sets: 14-25, 25-20, 19-25, 18-25.
Leading the Pirates on the court was Elliotte Kahler with 3 kills, 26 assists, 1 ace, and 13 digs. CJ Fykes, with 9 kills, 1 assist, 1 ace, and 13 digs, and Meagan Baker, with 9 kills, 1 ace, 6 digs, and 4 blocks, also made vital contributions on the floor for the Pirate team. Leading the team defensively in digs with 20, Makena Rodriguez recorded 1 kill, 2 assists, and 1 ace and was followed closely by teammate Sommer Soderman with 7 digs and 4 kills. Rounding out the night for the Pirates were Alice Crean (4 kills, 7 digs, 1 block), Natalee Rogers (1 ace, 7 digs), and Khlieo Perez (2 kills, 2 digs).
