Building a Feudal Manor

Rikki Bischoff
The "Building a Feudal Manor" project for seventh graders was an engaging and immersive experience that allowed students to explore the world of feudalism by constructing a physical model of a medieval manor. Through creativity and historical research, students got a glimpse of the architectural and social aspects of life in the Middle Ages.
In this multi-week project, 7th-grade students worked to design and build a scale model of a feudal manor. They had the option of using a variety of methods, including Minecraft, legos, or constructing their own. This project offered a unique opportunity for students to gain insights into medieval architecture and the layout of a typical feudal estate.
