Varsity Boys Basketball Takes Charge Against Patriots
On 12/7/23, the varsity boys basketball team hosted Master's Academy of Vero Beach in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center. The determined Pirates pulled ahead of the Patriots 12-8 in the 1st quarter and dominated the 2nd quarter 38-17. The Pirates never allowed the Patriots to regain their footing in the second half and ultimately defeated their opponents 76-42.
Gary Anderson led the Pirates on the scoreboard with 18 points. Cody Simmonds collected 14 points in the Pirate victory, and Nate Sparkman, who amassed 13 points, was 4 of 4 with his free throw shots. Wyatt Burdick sank 8 points, and Jayzere Cannon netted 7. Wes Nobile recorded 6 points for the Pirate team, and Carson Yates put up 5. Jack Johnson sank a 3-pointer in the Pirates' successful night, and Sean Stalheber added 2 points toward the win.
