Varsity Girls Lacrosse Upsets Jensen Beach

On 3/20/24, the varsity girls lacrosse team faced off at home against perennial district leader Jensen Beach High School.  In an all-hands-on-deck effort, the Pirates stunned the Falcons with a 10-9 victory.

The Pirate midfielders and attackers weathered the blows of the very physical Falcon defense to help ensure the team was able to keep their opponents at bay. CJ Fykes brought 4 goals and 1 assist for the Pirate team, and Aerin Russell and Caitlin Moscrip netted 2 goals each. Scoring 1 goal each in the victory were Mary Kathryn Watson and Lily O'Brien. In addition to several critical ground balls and draw controls, Bebe Busch-Dunford dished 2 assists for the team. The defensive efforts of Madeline Richards, Nicollette Kennedy, Busch-Dunford, and Leah Chin held the usually high-scoring Falcons to just 9 points, and eighth-grade goalie Maddie Moscrip collected 9 saves on the night.

Next game is 3/21/24 versus Pine Crest School, starting at 5:00 PM on the Michael J. Mersky Field.
