Science, The Five Senses, and Special Friends!

Kelly Hudson
Grandparents and special friends joined lower school students in the science lab for an engaging, hands-on investigation of the five senses. Together, they explored the sense of sight through fun optical illusions, discovering how the brain can be tricked by what it sees. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed using the hand-held microscopes to examine a variety of objects, including coral, snake skin, shells, feathers, and even their own skin and hair! A lively smell test challenged them to identify mystery scents, from sweet vanilla to zesty citrus, while the sense of touch came to life as they felt and compared different fabrics. The sense of sound filled the room with the joyful noise of our visitors, as students and guests played with xylophones and noisemakers! This interactive experience added a special touch to the cherished Grandparent’s Day tradition. Click on this link to see the fun day!
