Varsity Girls Volleyball Crowned Regional Champs

The varsity girls volleyball team faced off against the Brevard HEAT on 10/28/25 in the Class 1A Region 2 Final. With the Saint Edward's School volleyball program having not been to a Regional Final since 2003, the Pirates came out on the court with victory on their mind. Taking charge on the court, the Pirates put away the Firehawks 25-19 and 25-21 in the 1st 2 sets. Despite dropping a close 3rd set 20-25 to their opponents, the Pirates remained steadfast on the court, ultimately defeating the Firehawks 25-21 in the 4th set to claim the Regional Championship crown. The Pirates will now advance to the State Championship playoffs.

Grace Clemente led the Pirates in kills with 25, alongside her 5 digs and 1 block, and teammate Margaret Fykes topped the stats in assists with 52, in addition to collecting 1 kill, 1 ace, and 4 digs. Grace Fykes nabbed 15 digs and 1 ace in the game, and Makena Rodriguez amassed 19 kills and 4 digs. Nevin Waddell kept the ball moving for the Pirates as she accumulated 7 kills, 1 ace, 1 assist, 10 digs, and 2 blocks. Helping the Pirates achieve the victory were Alice Crean with 3 kills, Khlieo Perez with 2 kills and 1 block, and CJ Fykes with 2 digs.
 
Next game is the Class 1A State Semifinals against Harvest Community School, starting at 4:00 PM at the Winter Haven Health Center at Polk State College in Winter Haven.
