Varsity Football Stuns #1 Sante Fe to Clinch Regional Final Bid

On 11/7/25, the varsity football team traveled to Lakeland to compete against the #1 regionally ranked Santa Fe Catholic High School in the SSAA Class 3A Regional Semifinals. Pirate quarterback Dylan Colontrelle connected with Mark Moore for a 30-yard touchdown to get the scoring started for the Pirate team. After a 7-7 tie going into halftime, kicker Reid Durham hit a field goal to help the Pirates take a 10-7 lead. Later, Colontrelle found Connor O'Brien with an 85-yard touchdown pass and run. The final scoring for the Pirates came when Christian Alfonso connected with O'Brien for a 20-yard touchdown pass to give the Pirates the go-ahead score late in the 4th quarter. Max Pohl solidified the Pirate victory with an interception on the 5-yard line, which secured the Pirates' first road playoff win since 2016. The entire Pirate defense was instrumental in containing the determined Crimson Hawks' rushing offense. The Pirates' 24-19 win clinched the team's spot at the 3A Regional Finals.

Next game is the SSAA Class 3A Regional Final against Cambridge Christian School, starting at 7:00 PM at Skyway Park in Tampa.
