Narrow Loss for Varsity Boys Basketball in 1st Game of Season

On 11/18/25, the varsity boys basketball team opened their season at home in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center versus Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School. The Pirates saw a 13-13 tie with the Minutemen by the end of the 1st quarter, but the Pirates pushed ahead 39-32 going into the half. By the end of the 3rd quarter, the Pirates led the competitive matchup 55-54. The nailbiting 4th quarter saw the Pirates narrowly defeated by the Minutemen 70-72. 

Cody Simmonds came out hot on the floor for the Pirate team, racking up 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Jayzere Cannon racked up 20 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Wyatt Burdick led the Pirates in steals with 4 and also collected 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Tallying 7 points each, Daniel Clemente also contributed 8 rebounds, and teammate Cole Register added 1 assist. Kaleb Jones netted 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal, and Daniel Ciceron finished with 2 rebounds and 1 steal.
 
Next game is at home on 11/19/25 versus The Benjamin School, starting at 6:30 PM in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center.
