Congratulations to the SES winners of the Congressional Art Competition: First Place - Katya Combs; Second Place - Matthew Barrett; Best Painting - Christina Wang; Best Drawing - Joseph Tomberg

The 2026 Congressional Art Competition invites high school students to submit original 2D artwork for a chance to have their pieces displayed in the Capitol for one year. Winning works from each congressional district will be showcased in the Cannon Tunnel, with winners celebrated at a Washington, D.C. reception. This year, Katya Comb's work, Freedom at Sea, was selected for this honor. Second place awardee Matthew Barrett will also have his artwork displayed in Congressman Haridopolos’ Washington, D.C. office.

“This year, we received more than 62 submissions from six different schools across Florida’s Eighth Congressional District, and I am truly blown away by the level of talent on display,” said Congressman Mike Haridopolos. “These students are not just creating art—they are telling stories about who we are as a community and what makes our country so special. The future is bright because of young leaders like these.”
