Perrin Takes 4th Place at Varsity Track & Field State Championship

On 5/6/26, Jacquelyn Perrin and the girls 4x800 relay team traveled to Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville to go up against the state's best in the Class 1A State Championship for varsity track and field.

The squad of Nahlia Hebig, Cadence Callaghan, Sophie Cooper, and Jacquelyn Perrin took to the track for the first event of the meet for the Pirate team, the girls 4x800 relay race. The relay team battled on the track to an 11th place finish overall, clocking in at 10:15.16.

Representing the Pirates in the 1600m, despite a setback on the track toward the end of the race, Perrin completed the event in a respectable 9th place at 5:15.04. With the 800m race, Perrin was looking to add to this season's medal count.  In the final 100 meters, she unleashed a remarkable home-stretch sprint, overtaking the runner just ahead of her by a thrilling 0.04 seconds at the finish line, seizing 4th place at 2:18.10 and earning her spot on the podium.
