Varsity Swimmer Breaks Lake Placid Pool Record

Varsity Swimming competed in the Heartland Invitational on 10/12/19 hosted by Lake Placid High School in Lake Placid. Both the boys and girls team each placed 6th overall in the competition.

For the Lady Pirates, 8th grader Alexandra Stern placed 1st in both the 200-meter freestyle and the 500-meter freestyle. For the 500-meter freestyle, Stern clocked in 31 seconds faster than the winner of the boys 500 Freestyle, resulting in Stern breaking the previously set pool record at Lake Placid. 
Freshman Faith Mead also had a notable 6th place in the 50-meter freestyle.
 
 
Next meet will be at the Varsity Swimming districts. Location and time are TBA.
