Varsity Cross Country Competes in Regional Tournament

The boys and girls varsity cross country team traveled to Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek to compete in the  FHSAA 1A Regional 4 Tournament hosted by Pine Crest School on 10/30/19.

The Lady Pirates placed an impressive 5th overall out of 16 teams and will advance to the state championship meet for the first time in school history. Senior Elise Mallon ran an incredible race and paced the Pirates, finishing 8th out of 111 runners. The girls team also received strong performances from Sarah Wolf (35th place), Savanna Ware (37th place), Bridget Nelson (38th place), and Ellie MacMullan (42nd place). 
 
Showing steadfast determination on the course, the Pirates finished their race in a commendable 10th place out of 18 teams. The boys team was led by Liam Kavolius (32nd place), Oscar Lindethal (37th place), Mac Carnell (42nd place), Christopher Schulze (50th place), and William Munz (56th place). The boys were less than 20 points away from advancing to the state meet.

 
Next meet will be the 1A State Championship at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee on 11/9/19, starting at 9:10 AM.
