The Animal Mask Mashup

Sherrier (lk)
Students were challenged to design and create a dimensional mask that could cover the whole face. The mask was to be made using inspiration from at least one animal mixed with another element. This other element might be a second animal, a cultural design, or a social/environmental statement. Each mask has been made by hand from scratch and from the base up. Students experimented with Bristol Board scoring and cutting techniques, made practice patterns and templates to follow and attached each piece of their masks together using found materials as well as paint to add their reference element to the mask. We hope you enjoy this unique and complex work. *Please click READ MORE for more photos.
