Seventh Grade English Students Create BookSnaps for The Giver

To revitalize their interactions with The Giver, seventh-graders learned how to create BookSnaps for each section of the book. BookSnaps are a way of digitally annotating and sharing excerpts from a book. Once they identified an excerpt that resonated with the essential questions or key themes of the novel, students took a picture of that page and uploaded the image to Google Slides. They then added text to explain their personal connection to the quote and inserted an emoji to reflect the emotions the words elicited in them. Follow this link to view a sample of their BookSnaps.
