Varsity Girls Soccer Stuns MCC

The varsity girls soccer team faced off against Melbourne Central Catholic High School at home on 11/30/23 in Pirate Stadium. A competitive matchup through the end, the Pirates and the Hustlers went into halftime scoreless. Thanks to a skillfully executed assist from teammate Elizabeth Campbell, Abigail Sylvia scored the Pirates' lone goal in the second half to ensure that the Pirates overcame the Hustlers 1-0. The team's record for the season is now 4-0.

The determined Pirates never wavered on the pitch and maintained field advantage with excellent defensive plays in both halves by Caroline Langsam and Tajani Gayle. Campbell, Bebe Busch-Dunford, and Millicent Critchfield relentlessly kept attacking for the Pirate team, and teammates Mary Kathryn Watson, Aerin Russell, and Isa Argote shut the Hustlers down in the center. At goal, Mia Perez recorded a clean sheet for the Pirate team, making an impressive total of 19 saves.
