Varsity Football Seizes Homecoming Day Victory

Varsity football played their Homecoming game in Pirate Stadium on 10/3/25 against Boca Raton Christian School. The Pirates secured a 51-40 victory on the field over the Blazers.

Offensively, the Pirates scored most of their points on the ground with a dominating rushing attack. Ivan Kelly paved the way with 221 yards on 29 carries and 3 touchdowns. Connor O'Brien went over 100 yards receiving and eclipsed the 1,000 yard total for the season, perhaps for the first time in school history. O'Brien also scored 3 touchdowns: 1 rushing and 2 receiving. Mark Moore was also responsible for a rushing touchdown. Kicker Reid Durham went 7 for 7 with extra points. Paul Bower recovered 3 onside kick attempts by the Blazers. Though the defense surrendered 40 points, Daniel Clemente and the defensive line maintained pressure on a very good quarterback and were credited with a safety. The defense also gave up just 2 of 6 two-point conversion attempts, which proved to be the difference in the game.
Next game is at home on 10/9/25 versus Lake Highland Preparatory School, starting at 6:00 PM on the Michael J. Merksy Field.
