The varsity girls volleyball team competed against Calvary Chapel Academy in the Class 1A District 8 Semifinals on 10/14/25 at Merritt Island Christian School in Merritt Island. The Pirates clinched the first set 25-10 but saw the Eagles battle back in the second set to seize the victory 25-27. Undeterred, the Pirate team went full force on the court, ensuring they claimed the next 2 sets over their opponents (25-14, 25-12) to win the match and advance to the District Finals.
Makena Rodriguez managed the ball for the Pirates, recording 12 kills and 7 aces, and Margaret Fykes ensured the Pirates maintained control with her 34 assists, 7 aces, and 1 block. Grace Clemente netted 9 kills, 1 assist, and 3 blocks. Nevin Waddell secured 12 kills, 1 ace, 1 dig, and 1 block for the Pirate team, and Grace Fykes collected 1 ace, 3 assists, and 2 digs. Chipping in kills for the Pirates were Khlieo Perez with 4 and Halle Grella with 2, and adding aces in the victory was Maddie Moscrip with 3.
Next game is the Class 1A District 8 Finals on 10/16/25 versus the Brevard HEAT, starting at 7:00 PM at Merritt Island Christian School in Merritt Island.
