Varsity Volleyball Seizes Regional Semifinals in 5 Set Thriller

On 10/25/25, the varsity volleyball team, ranked 4th in Region 2 faced off against the regional #1 ranked team, The Geneva School, for the Class 1A Region 2 Semifinals in Winter Park. The Pirates claimed the 1st set 25-16, but the Knights charged back to claim the 2nd and 3rd sets 21-25 and 20-25. Undeterred, the Pirates shook off the previous set losses to come back strong in the 4th set with an overwhelming 25-16. With the score tied 2-2, the Pirates gave it everything they had in the 5th set to put away the Knights 15-8 and advance to the Regional Final.

Makena Rodriguez collected 21 kills, 4 aces, and 14 digs for the Pirate team, and Margaret Fykes recorded 2 kills, 44 assists, 14 digs, and 1 block. Nevin Waddell tallied 11 kills, 1 assist, 21 digs, and 1 block. Grace Fykes netted 4 aces, 4 assists, and 20 digs, and teammate Grace Clemente amassed 14 kills, 4 digs, and 4 blocks. Also contributing to the Regional Semifinal victory were CJ Fykes with 1 ace and 7 digs; Maddie Moscrip with 3 aces, 1 assist, and 3 digs; Khlieo Perez with 5 kills; and Alice Crean with 1 kill.
 
Next game is the Class 1A Region 2 Final on 10/28/25 against The Brevard HEAT, starting at 7:00 PM at Pineapple Cove Classical Academy in West Melbourne.
