Varsity Girls Basketball Falls in Overtime Heartbreaker

The varsity girls basketball team hosted Morningside Academy in the Wachter Activities Center on 1/8/21.  At the beginning of the game, it appeared that the Lady Eagles were posed to sore away with an easy victory. With some scrappy gameplay and a lot of heart, the Lady Pirates fought back in the second half to take the lead. Thanks to a lucky 3-point shot by the Lady Eagles, the Lady Pirates found themselves facing their opponents in an overtime matchup. Ultimately, the Lady Eagles walked away with a one-point win over the Lady Pirates, with a final score of 33-34.

Despite their loss, the Lady Pirate team put forth a commendable effort on the court. Leading the way in scoring were Alexa Soderman with 15 points and Raina Duggal with 13 points. Karis Crookshank contributed 3 points, and Chase Nelson collected 2 points.

Next game is away on 1/12/21 at Odyssey Charter School in Palm Bay, starting at 5:30 PM.
