On 8/29/23, the varsity volleyball team traveled to Sebastian River High School in Sebastian to take on the Sharks. Despite being down 18-25 in the first set, the Pirates rallied to soundly defeat the Sharks in the remaining 3 sets (25-14, 25-21, 25-23).
Meagan Baker led the Pirate team in kills with 10, in addition to recording 3 aces, 2 digs, and 4 blocks. Following closely was CJ Fykes with 8 kills as well as 1 assist, 3 aces, and 16 digs. Elliotte Kahler had a spectacular night on the court for the Pirates, racking up 3 kills, 19 assists, 4 aces, 15 digs, and 1 block. Leading the Pirates defensively in digs with 32 was Makena Rodriguez, who also added 5 assists. Sommer Soderman recorded 5 kills, 1 aces, and 8 digs, and teammate Natalee Rogers contributed 10 digs toward the win. Alice Crean saw 2 kills and 2 digs on the night, and Khlieo Perez brought 1 kill and 2 digs to finish off the Sharks.
