Varsity Volleyball Crowned District Champions

The varsity volleyball team faced off against the Brevard HEAT Firehawks in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center on 10/20/23 for the Class 2A District 8 Finals. Eager to avenge previous losses to the Firehawks, the determined Pirates dominated the courts to win the District Championship trophy in 4 sets:  25-20, 25-19, 12-25, 25-16. The team will now advance to the Regional Quarterfinals.
 
Elliotte Kahler put up 33 assists, 1 kill, 1 ace, and 13 digs on the floor for the Pirate team.  Meagan Baker, who also contributed 5 digs, led the team in kills with 11 and in blocks with 3. Makena Rodriguez put up 4 aces, 10 kills, 1 assist, and 16 digs for the Pirates. CJ Fykes ruled the court in digs with 25 and recorded 10 kills as well. Following closely, Natalee Rogers tallied 20 digs on the court. Alice Crean amassed 1 kill, 3 aces, 12 digs, and 1 block, and teammate Khlieo Perez accumulated 5 kills, 3 digs, and 1 block in the successful night for the Pirate team.
 
Next game is the Class 2A Region 2 Quarterfinals on 10/24/23 versus The Geneva School, starting at 6:00 PM in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center.
