Varsity Boys Basketball Crowned D5 Alive Champs
The varsity boys basketball team took part in the recent 9th Annual D5 Alive Tournament in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center. On 1/23/26, the Pirates competed against Master's Academy of Vero in the playoff game. The Pirate team overwhelmed the Patriots on the court 84-38 to secure their spot in the Championship game.
Kaleb Jones topped the scoreboard for the Pirate team with 22 points, 2 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. Cody Simmonds collected 18 points, 4 assists, 9 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 blocks; and Jayzere Cannon put forth 16 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Wyatt Burdick recorded 12 points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal. Daniel Clemente, who led the team in rebounds with 11, accumulated 6 points, 2 assists, and 1 block; and Cole Register netted 6 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound, and 2 steals. Trey Dunlap brought in 2 points, 1 assist, and 5 rebounds; and Daniel Ciceron added 1 point, 1 assist, and 2 steals.
In the Championship game on 1/24/26, the Pirate team went up against Jupiter Christian for the title. The Pirates took charge against the Eagles to claim the 69-58 victory and secure the Championship.
Simmonds led the Pirates into battle with 32 points, 2 assists, 15 rebounds, and 1 steal. Cannon amassed 17 points, 2 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal; and Burdick collected 7 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Jones recorded 5 points, 1 assist, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal. Clemente netted 4 points, 4 assists, and 10 rebounds; and Dunlap sank 4 points, 1 assist, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Register added 1 steal.
