Big Day for Hutton Helps Propel Varsity Baseball Past MIC

The varsity baseball team headed to the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Melbourne on 3/17/26 to play against Merritt Island Christian School. The Pirates dominated the field and the mound the entire game to shut out the Cougars 20-0.

Graham Hutton saw a big day at bat as he collected 3 hits in 3 at bats, tripling in the 1st inning, singling in the 2nd inning, and hitting a home run to right field in the 3rd inning. The Pirates added to their early lead in the top of the 2nd inning after Reid Morris doubled to center field and Brayden Schraw singled to right field. Six more Pirate runs crossed the plate in the 3rd inning to extend the lead to 10-0, with Nolan Ange doubling and scoring 1 run, Braylon Kirkland singling and scoring 1 run, Hutton homering to right field and scoring 3 runs, and Colton Freedman drawing a walk and scoring 1 run.

Freedman started on the hill for the Pirate team, allowing 0 hits and 0 runs over 2 innings, striking out 4 and walking 2.
