Hats Off to Creative Readers!

Our PK4 students recently enjoyed a library lesson featuring This Is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen, a Caldecott Medal–winning author and illustrator. After reading and discussing the story, students explored how illustrations and subtle details contribute to telling the story alongside the text. They then brought their own fish to life by coloring it and designing a unique hat. This creative activity encouraged imagination, fine motor skills and personal expression while reinforcing a love of reading.
