Fifth Grade Environmental Scientists Investigate Invasive Species

Shelby Fontana
Our fifth-grade students recently explored the impact of invasive plant and animal species on Florida’s ecosystems through an engaging research project. Each student selected a species to study, learned how it affects native wildlife and habitats, and then created an informative poster showcasing key facts and visuals. To deepen their understanding, students collaborated in groups to present their findings to classmates, building both confidence and communication skills. This hands-on experience not only strengthened their research abilities but also encouraged students to become thoughtful stewards of the environment.
