Anchored in Wellness: Mental Health Awareness Week
Last week, students across all divisions came together to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week with daily themes, meaningful activities and a concluding green dress-down day that showed support and served as a reminder that mental health matters every day.
As Lower School Counselor Kristi Schofield shared, "During our Mental Health Awareness Week, Lower School students reflected on the importance of caring for our minds and hearts. Through breathing activities, reflective writing, and dancing our worries away, students shared that it’s okay to feel all kinds of emotions and that putting ourselves first is a superpower. As our students said, 'Mental health means knowing how to calm your mind, be yourself and love your mind and body!'"
In the MS/US, students participated in guided breathing, shared their voices through whiteboard prompts, enjoyed outdoor walks and practiced meditation with Sound Therapist Anthony Profeta. Meanwhile, the LS offered a joyful, age-appropriate take on the week. Students started their days with calming breathing videos, explored an interactive bulletin board, enjoyed outdoor walks, wrote kind notes and ended the week dancing together in the courtyard.
