A Stitch Above The Rest

Brandon Carter
In addition to performing on stage, Mr. Carter's Intro to Theatre class has also been learning about some of the different aspects of technical theatre and the skills required for working backstage. The students are currently working on a set design project for a play that we read in class. On this particular day, we learned about costumes and the need for sewing skills in the theatre. So with that, the students learned how to sew a button onto a piece of fabric in class. This is a skill that isn't often taught these days, and yet in theatre, as in life, it is a useful skill to know. A Big Kudos to this group of sixth graders as they are showing their wide array of talents, not just on-stage, but within the technical theatre realm too.
