LEGOS, Learning, Living and Non-Living Things!

Shelby Fontana
First-grade students explored science through hands-on learning, using LEGOS to create examples of living and non-living things. Working together in small groups, they discussed simple characteristics of living things, such as growing, needing food and water, and being able to move or change. Students shared their ideas, listened to one another and collaborated to decide how to classify their LEGO creations. This engaging activity encouraged teamwork, creativity and early scientific thinking in a fun and meaningful way.
