Making Personal Connections to Social Studies in Second Grade

Our social studies history unit has taken us into the study of how and why people move. We gathered facts beginning with the journey to Ellis Island and compared and contrasted push and pull factors that brought immigrants from all over the world to America. Students also had the opportunity to share their families’ own immigration history! It was fascinating to see where we all came from and make personal connections to our learning!
