Suspicious Characters & Silly Art in First Grade Library

Carly McAuliffe
First graders put on their award-judge hats this week in the library! After reading Don’t Trust Fish by Neil Sharpson, illustrated by Dan Santat, students discussed whether the book has what it takes to be a future Caldecott winner. Inspired by the story’s humor and illustrations, students created their own “Don’t Trust" pages, complete with colorful drawings of who (or what!) we definitely shouldn’t trust. The results were creative, clever, and full of laughs.
