Seventh Graders Connect with Argentina

Pamela Mejia (lk)
Students in Mrs. Mejia's classroom are connecting with students from Redemptoris Missio School in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They are using Flipgrid, a video sharing platform, to practice their language skills and learn about each other's culture. Students have been discussing topics such as school, their interests, extracurricular activities, families and favorite things to do around their city.  They have been talking since the beginning of October and will continue until the end of November (when our Argentinian friends go out for summer break). Students have enjoyed learning from each other and seeing how alike they are.  Fortnite, sports and Snapchat are common interests with both groups of students. This experience has allowed the SES students to build confidence in their speaking skills and to realize how much Spanish they already know!
