Our Leadership Team

There have been many communications from Saint Edward’s to our community that reference our Leadership Team. It has occurred to me that some in our community, especially our new families, might not know who is on the Leadership Team. Before I list their names and areas of responsibility, let me begin by explaining this team meets each Monday (or Tuesday after a break) and at other various times during the week as needed. The team discusses the day-to-day happenings on campus as well as plans for events that will happen. We also discuss strategy, solutions to problems, create the school calendar for the coming year, professional development of our faculty and staff, staffing, communications, emergency procedures, and a host of many other issues that go into running a school with the complexities of Saint Edward’s. In my 18 years of independent school leadership, I have never been associated with a group as talented and committed as our current Leadership Team at Saint Edward’s. So, who are they?

Dr. Stuart Hirstein: Head of School. Dr. Hirstein has overall responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of Saint Edward’s.

Jack MacMullan: Associate Head of School and Head of Upper School. Jack has overall responsibility for everything happening in the Upper School. As Associate Head of School, he is Dr. Hirstein's right hand and also serves as the Head of School when Dr. Hirstein is away from campus.

Beth Zamerski: Associate Head of School and Chief Financial Officer. Beth has overall responsibility for the financial operations of Saint Edward’s School as well as Transportation, IT, Food Service, and Facilities. As Associate Head of School, Beth also assumes dual responsibility as acting head with Jack when Dr. Hirstein is away from campus.

Mara Slattery: Director of Enrollment Management. Everyone that is enrolled at Saint Edward’s School has come in contact with Mara. In her role, she has the overall responsibility of ensuring all applicants are tested, evaluated, and ultimately placed in the proper grade and classes at Saint Edward’s School. She also is in charge of handling the Variable Tuition program.

Allison Baratta: Head of Middle School. Allison is responsible for all things associated with running the Middle School.

Dr. Louise Dunn: Head of Lower School. Dr. Dunn is responsible for all things associated with running the Lower School.

Kathy Savage: Director of Development. Kathy has overall responsibility for all aspects of the annual fund, capital giving, endowment, restricted giving, and all fundraising activities like the Pirate Ball, etc. She is also responsible for maintaining fundraising records and data management.

Monica Jennings: Director of Marketing and Communications. Monica is responsible for all communications, including print media, video media, the Watermark, the website, all social media accounts, and any advertising (including the new and improved campus signage and pictures).

There is so much happening behind the scenes at Saint Edward’s, and our Leadership Team keeps this machine well-oiled and running smoothly. They are simply the best!
