On April 28, Saint Edward’s School celebrated the induction of new members into the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica during a beautiful ceremony in the Peter B. Benedict Library. Senior Noah Hernandez greeted guests with lovely guitar music, and graduating members of the society were presented with their honors cords, followed by the recognition for those who earned the prestigious Global Seal of Biliteracy. The event then transitioned to the induction, including the traditional lighting of candles, a poetry reading and the recitation of the society pledge. Thank you to Co-Presidents Marlon Dato-Slattery, Grace Starr Griffeth, Sadie Howarth and Addison Logemann for leading this portion of the program entirely in Spanish.
The ceremony concluded with a blessing from Father Barrett and heartfelt thanks to faculty, staff and Spanish teachers for their unwavering support. Guests then enjoyed a festive luncheon prepared by FLIK, closing out the celebration of academic achievement, cultural appreciation and global citizenship. Thank you to Mrs. Mejía, Mrs. Rojas and especially, Dr. Martin, for coordinating this ceremony.
