Kindergarten Visits the Biology Lab

During a special visit to the Upper School Biology Lab, kindergarten students were invited to step into the shoes of real scientists for the afternoon, guided by the AP Biology students. The AP students led five engaging, hands-on stations designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of the natural world.

One highlight of the visit was the opportunity to learn about and hold live hermit crabs. Kindergarteners were fascinated as they observed the crabs up close, learning about their behaviors, unique adaptations and how these small creatures protect themselves using found shells. Another station introduced students to the microscope, where AP Bio students demonstrated how to properly use the microscope to view tiny organisms and structures.

Ms. Brower and Ms. Borruso give big thanks to Mrs. Buckley and the AP Biology students for welcoming their classes to the lab and fostering a love of scientific discovery with their young learners! Please click the headline for more photos, and view highlights from the visit here.
