Varsity Cross Country Opens Season at IRC Invitational
The varsity boys and girls cross teams began the 2025 season at the Indian River Invitational on 8/30/25 at the Indian River Country Fairgrounds in Vero Beach. The varsity girls team placed 4th overall out of 17 teams with 128 points.
For the varsity girls team, Jacquelyn Perrin led the way for the Pirates with her 4th place finish and a new best time of 21:06. Sophie Cooper placed 19th with a personal record of 22:48, and Cadence Callaghan finished in 21st place at 23:02, also a personal best. Nahlia Hebig completed her first cross country meet, finishing 23rd place at 23:06. Emma Ramsay rounded out the scoring with her 74th place finish and personal best time of 26:04. Isabella Peter wrapped up the day for the Pirates with 26:47 to place 82nd.
Jack Curley was the lone varsity boys runner, finishing 5th overall with a new personal best time of 17:07.
In the junior varsity boys race, Liam Boltrek, Reef Blackman, Trip Williams, Kaan Mimaroglu, and Ian Wallace all competed in their first 5k. In the junior varsity girls race, Linley Davis-Curley also competed in her first 5k, placing 31st with 32:47.
Next meet is away on 9/13/25 at the Centennial Invite, starting at 7:00 AM at St. Lucie West Centennial High School in Port St. Lucie.
