Eighth Graders Take the “Hot Seat” in AP US History

Eighth graders in Mr. Forde's Honors US History had a front-row seat to an AP US History Harkness discussion, an upper school class known for its thoughtful, high-level dialogue. The visit gave our rising scholars a firsthand look at the critical thinking and collaborative discussion they’ll experience in just a few years.

During the session, eighth grader Reagan Miner was chosen on the spot to join the conversation with the upper school students. Despite being surrounded by older students who had prepared for the discussion, she spoke multiple times, asked insightful questions and made strong points. It was a moment that showcased the curiosity and courage of our future upper school scholars.
