Varsity Equestrian Vatland Impresses at Recent Shows
Eighth-grade varsity equestrian athlete Maddyn Vatland recently competed in the show circuit down at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington. In her 5 weeks of showing, she showed mostly in the equitation seat on her horse, In It To Win It (Winnie). Some of her top accomplishments were a 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place, and 5th place in the 3 ft equitation over fences and many places on the flats.

From March 18-23, Vatland participated in the Ocala Championship, part of the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit. She placed 2nd in the .90 jumpers, 2nd in the meter jumpers, 5th in the .90 meter classic in jumpers, 6th and 2 4th places in the 3 ft equitation over fences, 3rd place in .90 regular jumpers, and a 5th place in the equitation medal round, ending the show with a very impressive 8 ribbons.
