Mrs. Rogers took her AP Art students on a field trip this week, where they learned about the life and works of British contemporary artist Michael Craig-Martin. Students were led by docent Pamela Turner, as she explained the artist’s paintings and prints in the exhibition. The students had the opportunity to create drawings of the then and now just like some of the superimposed artworks that were viewed in the exhibition. The last photo is the artist’s superimposed artwork titled, Then and Now. (Cassette/Spotify), 2018. Click the headline to read more.
Katie Turner created a drawing of an inexpensive candle drawn in red and a lamp drawn in black, representing the lamp as a sophisticated version of technology used for lighting. The drawing that our students created will be exhibited at the gallery during a special event. We appreciate Mrs. Turner for giving us this fabulous opportunity! Students who attended: Allie Campione, Catherine Campione, Ellie Huryn, Will Johnson, Caitlin Regan, Alexander Sylvia, Katie Turner and Rebecca Wickham. A special thanks to Mrs. Wald for chaperoning our trip.
