New US Faculty: Meet Amarilys Heard - Upper School Spanish Teacher

Upper School Spanish Teacher Amarilys Heard, a native of Puerto Rico, joins Saint Edward’s from Lake Highland Preparatory School where she worked as a Spanish teacher. She also taught Spanish at Lake Highland Preparatory School for 14 years. Amarilys has many affiliations with foreign language associations such as an endorsed College Board Consultant for Advanced Placement Spanish Language and Culture, member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language and Southern Conference on Language Teaching, among others. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Education from the University of Central Florida and her Master’s in Education in Instructional Technology from the University of Maryland University College. We welcome Amarilys to Saint Edward’s School.
