Middle School Book Club Skypes with Blue Bell, PA

Mrs. Fykes and Mrs. Bischoff's Middle School Book Club is reading The Bridge Home by Padma Venkatraman. This novel is a 2019 Global Read Aloud pick and middle school classes around the world are reading it during the months of October and November. Last week, students participated in a Mystery Skype with a class at Wissahickon Middle School in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Students took turns asking Yes/No questions to try to determine the location of the other school. The students in Blue Bell guessed we were in Florida and then very quickly guessed we were in Vero Beach. We were shocked that they guessed Vero so fast and asked how they knew. One of the student's father had just purchased a home in Vero Beach. What a small world. After finishing the Mystery Skype, the two groups of students discussed the book with one another and concluded the activity by asking questions about their school in PA and answering questions about Saint Edward's School.
