Ashby Taylor and Zayna Shaikh Attend Music Conference

AB
Two upper school and one middle school student attended the esteemed FMEA Professional Development Conference last week. It is one of the largest music education professional development events in the United States. It is attended by more than 10,000 people, performing in the All-State ensembles, students and professional musicians performing with invited performing ensembles, exhibitors, and parents of performing students.

Ashby Taylor served as a member of the Florida Music Educator's Association/Florida Vocal Association All-State Women's Chorus.  The Women's Chorus was made up of about 200 girls throughout the state of Florida who were accepted into the ensemble after passing three vigorous rounds of musical and vocal quality examination.

Zayna had a similarly rigorous experience to become a part of the All-State High School Band. She said, "I truly learned so much from all the other performers who were a part of this concert. It was a great experience, and I hope to do it again next year!"
