Summer Programs and Water Camp: UPDATE

Marie Campione
Dear Families, Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to analyze our options for our 2020 summer programs at Saint Edward’s School. We hope you are doing well in the midst of the current challenges and uncertainty that we are all facing.

The safety of our camp community is paramount in the construction and execution of all of our summer programs at SES, and our focus on proactive safety measures is a significant component in our recipe for the creation of unforgettable summer experiences. We take great pride in knowing that we build an environment where families feel confident that their children are engaged in programs that prioritize the physical and emotional safety above everything else. As you can imagine, the COVID-19 situation has introduced new, enormous challenges. We have been tirelessly working to determine how we can safely host camps that meet our standards of excellence.

In consideration of the factors mentioned above and with a very heavy heart, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Water Camp and all contact-sport camps for the summer. In addition, we will only offer virtual, flexible summer programs for the month of June. If you were registered for a June on-campus program, a contact-sport camp, and/or Water Camp, we will cancel your enrollment and you will NOT be charged any money for this disruption. An updated catalog for June will be available by Friday, May 15, 2020.

In terms of new June programs, an updated catalog with the new camp information will be published soon. Enrollment for the new June programs will be available soon. Registration for virtual camps will require payment in full at the time of enrollment. Given the flexibility of these programs, families will be able to adapt their schedules to meet camp times. Looking ahead to July and August, we hope to provide additional programming options that align with the continuously updated guidelines from local, state, and federal agencies.

We apologize in advance for any hardships resulting from the change in our camp schedule. We are particularly saddened to not offer Water Camp which has been a staple in our community for over 40 years. Please know that this safety-based decision was one that we hoped we would be able to avoid, but we are confident that this is the right approach for the health of our camp participants and the safety of the greater Vero Beach community as a whole.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via email (msmith@steds.org) or phone (772.492.2357). In the meantime, be safe, be well, and we look forward to this new summer program experience!
Sincerely,

Morgan Smith
